I've been working on cutting and fitting the behind seat panel. Not quite there yet, so will post pics when it's complete.

Build Day 115.....Panel Templates

Not really done too much this weekend. Just enough to class as a single build day. I've used some card to create templates of the internal panelling for the car (transmission tunnel and footwells). Here they are done:

Below shows the transmission tunnel templates in situ:

Just need to now use them to cut out the aluminium.

Build Days 113 & 114.....Attaching the Floor

The last few evening has been spent attaching the floor. Well, I say attaching, but it's not permanent yet. However, the hard work is done. It may not look much, but basically I have done the laborious task of pilot drilling, drilling, de-burring and tapping hundreds of holes through which the socket head bolts will hold the floor onto the chassis:

I've then test assembled it to check it's OK:

Note that there are no bolts yet down the outer side edges. This is because the bolts there will also hold on the bottom of the side panels and I'll need to have those panels in place (once I get the aluminium) so I can drill through everything together.

Then next stage is to take the floor off and carry on with the all the other panels. I wont attach anything permanently until all the panels are made and their holes drilled and tapped. This is to ensure I have enough room to work before I box things in.

Build Days 111 & 112.....Axle Painting, and Making the Floor

First of all, I've completed the modification to the Axle and have painted it. Here it is:

I've now moved on the making the floor. I've used a piece of 3mm checker board aluminium. Using a cardboard template, I cut it to size, then ground off the checker board pattern where the floor will rest on the chassis tubes to ensure a flush fit:

So far so good. Next step will be to start attaching it to the chassis. Traditionally, this is done with rivets, however I'm not keen on using them. Instead I have some M5 stainless socket button bolts on order. The plan is to drill and tap holes into the chassis for these bolts to screw into. This way it's not permanent, so I can more easily get all the body panels made up and the mounting holes drilled before final assembly.

Build Day 110.....Few More Bits And Bobs

Did a few more bits and bobs over the last few evenings, just enough to class as a single 'build day'. Painted the engine mounts. I've also been making some minor modifications to the de-dion axle, ready to paint that shortly.

Once these bits and bobs of painting have been done, I'm going to start on fitting the floor and the side panels.

Build Day 109.....More Chassis Painting

Finished off painting the chassis today by turning it over and painting the underneath. The rollbars are still to do though.
