Build Day 195.....More Rear Lights.

Completed the wiring of the brake/indicator units, so the fitting and wiring of the rear lights is now complete:

Build Day 194.....Rear Brake and Indicator Lights

Managed to get a little time in the garage today. I've fitted the rear Brake and indicator clusters to the wheel arches. Next job will be to wire these up.

Build Day 193.....Rear Arches #2

It's taken a lot of fetling, but finally the arches are on. I'm happy with the results. Will post some pics when I get chance.

Build Day 192.....Rear Arches

Fitted the rear arches today. The passenger side is perfect, but for some reason the drivers side is a bit twisted, meaning it comes close to fouling the wheel. Will need to do some further fetling to get it right.

Build Day 191.....More Rear Panel

Today I completed the rear wiring and fitted the lights to the back panel:


As you can see, the lights fitted are the reverse lights, a fog light and the light to illuminate the number plate (once fitted). The tail/brake/indicator units will go on the wheel arches.

Although the panel is now on, it will need to come off again one more time so I can fit brackets for the top cover and to touch up the chassis paint work I've chipped while getting the panel to fit.

I've also temporarily placed one of the arches roughly where it needs to go. As you can see, it really changes the look of the car:

Build Day 190.....Rear Panel

Well, it's been a long time.
Work issues and going on holiday have stopped me doing anything on the car for a while.
However, today, I've finally had some time in the garage.
I've spent it temporarily fitting the rear fibre-glass panel. Took a little fettling to make it fit, but it now goes on OK. I then took it off and have started to permanently plumb and wire the rear end. Once this is done I can fit the panel permanently.

Build Day 189.....Seat Frames and Exhaust Mountings

Today, I've been able to finish off the seat mountings. These are now having a coat of paint.
I've also finished the exhaust system, complete with mountings.

The other bit of news is the rest of my bodywork is due to arrive next week - Once I start to fit this, the car should start to take on it's final shape.
