Build Days 162 & 163.....Clutch, Battery Tray and yet more Plumbing
It's been nice to have a free weekend to get some work done on the car.
Firstly, a big success was to complete the plumbing for the clutch and bleed some fluid through it - and it works! Considering the work gone into setting up this clutch system (Rover clutch cover and hydraulic actuator, coupled to ford friction plate and gearbox), plus all the issues I had with it when fitting the engine, I'm very please about the result.
I've also fabricated and made the 'battery' tray. I say 'battery' in inverted commas as the battery won't sit on here. Instead, as you can see in the pics below, the chargecooler is fitted into the tray and recessed into the passenger foot well. Should keep the passenger's feet warm :)
And yes, I've also done some more plumbing. The petrol filter is now properly fitted, and I've added a couple of runs of copper fuel pipe within the engine bay to finish off the fuel plumbing, except for a couple of sections of rubber hose.
On the down side, I've still not worked out exactly how to position and mount the water pump. I'm going to order in a length of flexible water hose to see if that helps.
