Build Day 48.....Getting There

Well, I'm pleased to say the chassis is just about ready now to be fully welded:


Before I do that though, the next stage will be to drop the engine in and check clearances etc for final bit of bracing in the engine bay.

Build Day 47.....More At The Back

Continued working on the back of the car. Did my first full welding on part of it. Very pleased with the results.

Build Day 45 and 46.....Back To The Chassis

I've now moved on to building up the back of the chassis. The bottom part of which is now completed:


It's a slightly modified design over the plans in order to accomodate the de-dion axle.

Build Day 44.....Main Part Of The Chassis Now Complete

I have now completed the tacking up of the main bulk of the chassis (apart from the FU1 and 2 tubes as mentioned before).

The next step is to build up the rear part of the chassis. Watch this space.....

Build Day 42 and 43.....Yep, you guessed it....

More work on the chassis. Finally finished the transmission tunnel! I then started to look at the two bars towards the front of the chassis that are aptly named 'FU1' and 'FU2'. These form part of the mounting of the front suspension brackets and therefore have to be lined up exactly. To line up the brackets and the bars I’m going to build a special jig. For the time being I've cut the bars to size and put them to one side.
