Build Day 196.....Nose Cone

Well, it's been a very long time since I did anything to the car. Been very busy with work and over Christmas.
Things have changed now in that I have a new job, which does not require me to travel all over the world, which means I should be able to have more time on the car. I really want it to be on the road this summer, so it's time to get a move on.
So, I've made a start today. I have been working on modifying and fitting the nose cone I have to fit the car properly. The main issue is that it was too low for the engine. I've fibre-glassed in some extensions that both raise and bring the nose forward slightly. I also made up a bracket-come-hinge assembly to hold the bottom of the 'cone and allow it to tilt forward to give easy access to the radiator and battery. I've brought the assembly inside to give it a paint.
The nose cone will now need to filled, sanded and painted to blend the extensions in, but this will have to wait until it's a bit warmer outside. However, because I now know it's final position, I can go ahead and do the other jobs at the front of the car, such as make the bonnet, fit the headlights, fit the front wings etc etc.

Yay! I knew you'd be back on this soon :) On the road by summer... Is this a challenge I hear being thrown down? Even if it's only really to yourself! Good luck - and if there's anything I can help with, just shout :)
